Daniel, narozen 1966, bez domova od 2010

Rodiče Dana byly ve špatné finanční a bytové situaci, proto ho ve dvou letech předali do pěstounské péče vzdáleným příbuzným, kde byl až do šesti let svého věku. Poté si ho rodiče vzali k sobě, ale on už k nim nenašel citové pouto.

Dan má trvalý pobyt v Praze a má šanci řešit s úřady svojí situaci, resp. zajistit si ubytování.

Daniel, born 1966, homeless since 2010

Dan's parents were in a bad financial situation and had inadequate housing. Because of this, they placed Dan in foster care of distant relatives when he was two years old. He stayed with them until the age of six, when his parents took him back home, but he never established a real emotional connection with them. He has two siblings.

Dan didn't want to live with his parents, so he asked a friend to help him find an apartment. He then lived there while working as a conservationist. He got married and had a daughter with his wife. After seven years, they got divorced, and his wife and daughter moved to Germany, where they still are as of today. He didn't see his daughter since the divorce.

Dan made a mistake when he stole 20 000 CZK from his employer and went to UK to try to find a new job. He was arrested there and sentenced to jail. After he returned to the Czech Republic, he had no place to go. During the following four years, he slept in squats or lodging houses, depending on his financial situation at the moment.

Dan has a permanent residency in Prague, and he has an opportunity to try to solve his situation with the authorities, to try to find accommodation. He is registered with the employment office and receives social security benefits. He is currently unemployed, because he has a criminal record for fraud, but he is still trying to find a job in the field of archeology. He is currently living at a commercial logging house.
